Osprey Ultralight Drysacks

As well as traditional uses, like keeping phones and cameras dry when at the beach or taking part in water sports, we also found a multitude of additional uses when we took our Osprey Ultralight Drysacks with us on our recent beach holiday.

Osprey Ultralight 6l Drysack

As you’d expect, they were adept at keeping everything inside dry as well as protecting the contents from sand, and I particularly liked the addition of the loop on the bottom of the Osprey Ultralight Drysacks.

Pictured you’ll see the 6L and 12L versions which we found heaps of uses for, including;

Organising and packing

I used 2 6L Drysacks to organise stuff inside my suitcase when I packed, which meant better organisation, making it easy for me to find the things I needed.

Protecting stuff from sand on the beach

The 12L Drysack was  the perfect size for my wetsuit, so I transported my wetsuit around inside my beach bag which protected it from sand. When I didn’t need my wetsuit we used it to put our books, GoPro and DSLR camera inside, protecting the contents from both sand and the sea.

Transporting wet swimwear

On the last day of our holiday we were due to leave the island at 4pm, gave us all day to fill with snorkelling. However, that meant we were left with wet beachwear to transport home. We used the Drysacks to pack away our wet swimwear and popped them into our cases to travel home with.

Use it as a pillow

We filled the Drysack with a little air, rolled and sealed it, and used it as a pillow whilst on the beach and we think you could do the same when camping if you’re keen on keeping your kit as lightweight as possible.

Camping laundry bag

We’ve also used the larger 20L Drysack when camping and found it doubles up well as a laundry bag, keeping dirty clothes separated from clean ones.
