We love the Gather Outdoors ethos to inspire people of all abilities to spend more time outdoors, and because their mission is so similar to our own, we wanted to tell you a bit more about them.
Gather Outdoors is the new website that aims to help people make more of their time outdoors. From a guide full of inspiring adventures you might never have considered or even heard of, to a store packed full of cool, yet functional products, the Gather Outdoors ethos is one which seeks to celebrate doing active and nature based things outdoors as opposed to just buying stuff.
Gather’s founder Tim Frenneaux on the philosophy behind the business:
There seems to be a pitched battle between business and the environment, even more so since Trump dumped the Paris Agreement. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Consumption can be good for both the consumer, and the producer, if it’s done with care and integrity. We all know that getting outdoors is really good for you. We’re connecting that individual benefit with an approach which is good for everyone and the planet we all share.
The Experiences Guide is packed with people who are passionate about helping others enjoy the outdoors more. It has been carefully curated, based on recommendations from the Gather community and features accessible adventures such as Stand Up Paddling off the coast of Skye, Sea Stack Climbing in County Donegal, Wild Swimming in the Welsh mountains, wooden whelk boat expeditions in Norfolk and even urban kayaking in central London.
As well as loving the sound of the various outdoors activities on offer, we’re also happy to report that Gather Outdoors also feature intriguing sounding outdoor experiences like nearly-wild camping.

Everything we do in Gather is about helping people get more from their time outdoors, and softening our impact. I don’t want to give the hard sell to products, however sustainably produced. I’d rather build a community of inspired adventurers, and be here when they need something.
