What do we think?
I’ve been using this table for camping trips all year, and I still absolutely love it. So let’s tell you a little bit more about why I never camp without taking along the Robens Trekker L table.

The aluminum table legs that slot together to form the base
When it comes to aesthetics, camping gear is still playing catch up, but the increasing use of more natural materials like Bamboo has made a big difference. Function of course is the most important component of any piece of camping gear, but for me, form is almost as important! Some of the camp tables you can buy, for example made of white plastic are just awful looking things.

Slatted stainless steel camp tables are less offensive to look at but in my experience, they aren’t massively sturdy. In terms of strength, stability and looks though, you simply can’t beat Bamboo camp furniture. As well as having antibacterial properties, bamboo furniture is very hard-wearing, one of the reasons why I wanted to spend a whole season camping with the Trekker L before posting my review.
The Trekker L up inside my Robens Trapper tent
Despite most of my camping trips this year unexpectedly turning into solo trips, I am certain you could easily seat four people around the Trekker L table, however for larger families, the Trekker XL table might be a better option. When I camp I tend to use a camp table as much for convenient standing height storage (I hate having to continually pick up things out of bags or boxes on the floor when camping), as I do for eating from, and the Trekker L has performs consistently well in every respect.
It’s worth mentioning that a couple of the aluminum poles that form the base of the table were initially very difficult to push into their relevant holes on the first couple of uses, but a quick spray of WD40 helped and I’ve had no assembly issues since.
The Verdict
As well as being small and light to carry, it’s so fast to put up, and goes from looking like bizarre and confusing tangled mess of poles to a sturdy, attractive table in about a minute. Now, Bamboo furniture is not cheap, and the Robens Trekker L is no exception, it’s a premium camp table, but you are paying for quality here.
Carrying the Trekker L table
If you’re after a sturdy and attractive table that will see you through many years of family camping, then you really can’t go wrong with the Robens Trekker L which makes a sound investment that won’t disappoint.
