NEWS | Technical Excellence With Retro Appeal, Meet The New Robens Outback Tents

Robens Outback Tent Range 2018
Robens, the award-winning technical tent brand has added three new tents to its Outback range. The new additions provide even more choice and include retro styling that captures the essence of the back-to-basics bushcraft approach to life outdoors. Read on to find out more about the three new models.

Prospector Shack RRP: £699.99

The new Prospector Shack builds on the popularity of the larger Prospector launched last year to capture the spirit of early American pioneers. It sympathetically combines modern technical materials and feature developments with a retro design to ensure today’s pioneer enjoys the best in comfort and reliability in a slightly smaller option for simpler pitching and storage. The good-looking tent uses HydroTex Polycotton created for Robens to enhance an Outback tent’s microclimate by stabilising temperature fluctuations and eliminating condensation. This is combined with a sturdy steel A-frame and ridge pole for stability.

Features inside the Prospector Shack include an elasticated stovepipe port for the installation of an optional Robens wood burning stove that can be safely positioned at the rear of the tent thanks to the zip-close flap in the sewn-in groundsheet. Large mesh windows protected by roof eves and internal curtains aid ventilation and the two-door front panel can be unzipped and rolled back to open the whole tent to the outdoors. A new half-length three-person inner joins full-length six-person inner for both tents to provide extra privacy and comfort levels.

Klondike Grande RRP: £799.99

Our immensely popular Klondike bell tent is joined by the roomy quick-pitching Klondike Grande (pictured left) that provides excellent levels of comfort for up to ten people, or eight if the optional inner is used – perfect for large families or groups. The vertical door makes for easy access – especially in bad weather – and protective eaves run around the tent to shelter door and walls from rain runoff.

The zip-in groundsheet features a zip to the centre alloy pole, enabling it to be rolled away to create a safe area in which to use an optional tent stove and a place for muddy boots. The bell tent features the neat new Internal Apex Vent Control that can be easily opened from inside using just two cords neatly channelled along the walls. Optional flooring provides extra comfort under foot.

Robens Trapper RRP: £749.99

The Trapper bell tent is the Robens tent we are most excited about here at Camping with Style and we’ll be bringing you a review later this year. The Robens Trapper provides a sizable enclosed living area including a large extension with protective porch over the entrance. A cowl protected top mesh vent, low vent and mesh inner door provide insect-free air flow, with protective eaves protecting the walls and wall vent.

The Trapper pitches quickly using a steel front hoop and single steel centre pole that’s off-set to free up space in the enclosed sleep area that sleeps up to four but is perfect for a couple looking for that extra space when touring or for longer holidays.
